The Nerve of Safety and Well-Being: Finding and Freeing the Vagus Nerve System

What if health and its creation are as simple as remembering to breathe, relax, and reset the nerve that tells us danger is present and we must respond to that danger by either playing dead, running away from it, or defending and fighting to overcome the danger? What if we could realize that we’ve chosen one of those pathways too much of the time, and we need to simply learn how to reframe, reset, and refocus our bodymindcore so that we can move forward through life, through the dangers and into the freedom that we deserve?

In this six-hour course, Noah Karrasch invites you to learn about the marvelous vagus nerve and its components and helpers; the parts of the nervous system that allow us to feel safe when we’re unable to navigate life and then resort to fighting, freezing, or fleeing. Noah suggests we give this talented system a vagal reset. The day is devoted both to understanding the system, but also to learning, accessing and using tools that help us all stay in the “find it, face it, feel it and forget it” mode instead of choosing to defend or escape our fears.

Based on years of research into the vagal complex, Noah has found ways to explain the system so it’s easily understood, and ways to help each individual learn how to ‘cope’ with their life’s problems without resorting to the escapes that so many of us employ. By the end of the day, participants will have new ideas and tools to help them, and to help them help their friends and family to reset that vagal system and move through life with less fear and more tools to deal with their challenges. Not just for healthcare practitioners! Anyone can learn simple ideas and techniques to help them stay in a less fearful and more fulfilling world.

Author, instructor, practitioner; Noah Karrasch has developed CORE® Bodywork over his 35 year career as a bodyworker and now has a few good teachers worldwide bringing the work to therapists and the public. Due to his interest in the healing arts and his personal body challenges over the years, his curiosity has pointed him in the direction of helping all people learn to take more authority for their own health and well-being. He’s excited to be sharing these courses in KL as well as teaching several advanced bodywork days to qualified students; these days could benefit anyone!
