As we work with clients, we partner with them to create freedom, movement, breath, and health in their systems.

We ask you to wear comfortable clothing and to bring a fitted sheet and face rest cover and one table for each two people. This work is done clothing on.

CORE IV, 7 days and CORE III, concurrently 6 days, explore the five-session blueprint for CORE work…basically the way to touch a body fully in five hours. During the course, students will review CORE principles, then watch tutor demonstration, work in partnerships with each other and take models through the series of sessions (for III’s one model, for IV’s two models).

CORE III and IV are run concurrently, with IV's attending one day earlier. As a group we'll focus on the learning and enhancing of the five series recipe developed by Noah.

III's will watch the instructor demonstrations of the sessions, work with another student through the series, and take one model through the series.

IV's will watch the demonstrations, work with another student, and take two models through the series.

At the culmination of the class, all are certified to use the five session recipe; IV's will have some additional training and the chance to visit the recipe in two courses.

NOTE: Ongoing support consists of access to internet support—for III’s, three personal Zoom sessions with Pam or another instructor for your concerns, and for IV’s, two personal sessions. In addition, Pam is available for email consultations and the group’s Facebook site adds information and support.

CORE III — The Five Sessions: A 56 credit class over six days; prerequisite CORE I and II, by invitation. In this class Pam introduces the five series recipe and discusses the Ida Rolf ten session recipe and how it contrasts to the work we are doing. Students observe, receive, and practice Noah's five series on each other and one model, observing one series given by CORE IV students as well if they are present in the course; and come out with a specific formula for addressing clients' body needs while enhancing their body awareness and understanding of self-imposed restrictions that can be changed. Particular attention is given to developing greater communication skills with clients. This class examines how health can be integrated into the lives of clients and students. CORE is not Rolfing! This is a specific series that accomplishes many of Rolfing's goals, but also intends to achieve different results.

CORE IV — The Final Step: A 64 hour class taken over eight days; prerequisite CORE I, II, and III and by invitation only. This class is meant to be taken at least one year after III, with practice of the five series in between. It is for serious students who want to develop and polish deeper bodywork skills, and the class is guaranteed to change both the way you think about bodies and about the recipe for five sessions learned in CORE III. Those who have completed this course understand the value of CORE IV. The CORE IV certificate is not recognized by any governing or certifying body as a terminal degree; this training is for bodyworkers who seriously want to enhance their skills, not their credentials. That said, this certificate is becoming more valued and valuable as more students are practicing and seeing the value of CORE work.

Resetting the Nerve of Well-Being (UK)

Many are now extolling the virtues of the vagus nerve; Noah Karrasch has spent the past five years thinking, examining and researching and has concluded that the vagal system is the key to good health, mentally and physically. In this six-hour class, we’ll spend time examining the vagal system’s anatomy and become familiar with some of the top thinkers in the world of bodymindcore therapies. While there will be some hands-on work, a great deal of the day will be devoted to the philosophy of vagal health and what Noah has decided to name “vagal reset.” If you’ve been excited to learn more about the vagus, this day is for you!

Masterclass with Noah: Maturity (UK)

Noah Karrasch has been repeatedly asked by his senior instructors (such as Pam Martin) to create a Masterclass, and this will be the first! The title, “Maturity,” comes from an Ida Rolf quote: “Maturity is the ability to discern finer and finer layers of distinction.” This is a concept he believes in and tries to practice more and more of the time.

During the seven-hour class, we’ll spend time examining the philosophy of the CORE technique as Noah perceives his body of work, move into specific techniques with touch both from Noah and working in partnerships to polish our touch skills. We’ll move into assessment skills, a short lecture about vagus nerve and its importance, then segue into the concept of creating safety for our patrons—including what Noah calls “emotional anatomy.” Following this concept of creating safety, we’ll work to enhance communication and listening skills, practice these techniques with each other, deal with what Noah calls “Mindful Movement, Where You Are,” and end the day giving and receiving sessions while keeping in mind the principles of the day (with touches to all from Noah and Pam).

Unwinding the Spine

Many people suffer from back pain and problems. In this class we look at various techniques that may be useful in relieving that pain and many of these techniques you’ve probably not considered before this day. With a demo, then partner work in each segment, we experiment with various body positions to help open, access and unwind the spinal 'stuck' spots. Prone and supine back work are featured, but also deep front of spine work, seated back work and standing work.

Top Ten Hot Spots

There are certain techniques that work often, while others are more specific to particular situations. This class is created on what is considered to be the most effective ten techniques to work with bodies that, time after time, seem to achieve results for nearly all clients.

Beginning with number one, moving through the list, we spend the most time with the top ideas, since they are the favorites of many bodyworkers. You'll come away from the day with a new respect for these techniques and their effectiveness.

If we can only touch one spot on a client, we know where it would nearly always be. If we can touch two, or three hot spots, we know which call to most loudly. Learn Noah Karrasch's Top Ten Hot Spots list and enhance your practice.

Relaxing the Jaw & Neck

Always a popular course! If you've wanted to get better, and braver, at the front of the neck and inside the jaw, this is the class for you!

CORE Fascial Release Bodywork, developed by Noah Karrasch, AR LMT, is designed to free holding patterns and restrictions through the body in partnership with clients—not in an authoritarian style. In the two days, we'll work in lectures, demonstrations and partnerships to learn the concepts of good deep tissue work that's been around for 35 years.

Top Ten Hot Spots (USA)

Presented by Albino Sandoval, Level I CORE Instructor

October 23, 2021
9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
USD $150

About Albino Sandoval

Albino was born in New Mexico but now resides in Columbia, Missouri where he practices CORE Fascial Release.

Before his journey in massage therapy, Albino worked in mental health care, a job that allowed him to use his empathy and nurturing, but he still felt something was missing, and wanted to help people in a more direct, therapeutic way. In 2010, Albino suffered a back injury from falling. His healing journey led him to seek care from an indigenous healer. It was after meeting this healer that Albino felt inspired to become a healer himself, which led him to the Columbia Career Center in 2014. Albino graduated in 2015, passed his boards, attained his license, then eventually found his way to Noah Karrasch’s CORE Fascial Release work. Since then, Albino has completed over 150 hours of the CORE classes, on top of his requirements for licensure in Missouri. When Albino isn’t driving across the state to complete CORE classes, he enjoys being in nature and being with his sons. He is proud of his indigenous heritage and incorporates remedies from that to heal his clients, both mentally, and spiritually.

Albino has practiced hands-on CORE therapy on hundreds of clients, leaving them with a deep sense of relief, peace, and a complete sense of wellbeing.

CORE I Intensive: All Purpose Recipe is the flagship course designed and developed by Noah Steven Karrasch (SMTO Conference 2016) to provide an all purpose recipe of CORE fascial release.

Noah’s philosophy of effective and safe bodywork that Coaxes Order and Restores Energy offers massage therapists and other bodyworkers the opportunity to work with their clients in a new and efficient way. Practitioners conserve their own energy and find the method easier on their body while clients are empowered to take a more active role in their treatment.

CORE Bodywork facilitates change in a direct, deep and dynamic manner.

CORE I focuses on the basic ideas of the CORE philosophy of good, safe deep tissue bodywork: assess, learn to access the correct layer of resistance, create movements and breath work for the client, and integrate any and all work done. We also cover intention, the psoas muscle, kinesiology lines of fascia, appropriate stretching cues and focus on the CORE® one session recipe, which we also observe, practice on each other, and on a client. Added recently: skin and superficial fascia dissection DVD with Gil Hedley.

+ About Pentony O’Hagan, BSc SMRT

Pentony has 10 years experience of working with individuals to relieve musculoskeletal pain, improve movement and function and restore balance to the body.

“Improved pain-free movement is at the core of what I try to achieve with my clients. Historically, when a new or regular client comes to see me, while treating the injury or area of stiffness/discomfort, I also focus on finding the root cause of the problem and simultaneously rectify any imbalance to prevent re-injury. Studying CORE with Noah was a game changer to my practice. Taking my focus away from the symptoms to focus on the connective tissue as a whole brought results faster that lasted longer. It also helped the clients to truly ‘meet their body’ and bring order, dynamism and fluidity to their movement. Pain, melted away.”

Pentony started her CORE journey in 2012 and in 2017 achieved her level CORE I teaching award. She has been teaching soft tissue techniques for many years and has now added CORE fascial release to her programme.

Resetting the Nerve of Well-Being (USA)

The vagus nerve is finally getting the respect it deserves! Noah Karrasch has been studying vagus and its effects on the bodymindcore for several years, and offers ideas about what the vagus and its assisting nervous complex do for us.

Basically we'll go into the concepts of fight/flee/freeze/feel, which response is tied to which parts of the system, and how we might alter our responses so we can live more fully in the moment instead of being stuck in the past regrets or the future fears. True health lies in the present moment.

In this day, we'll spend lots of time looking at anatomy of the vagal complex, viewing videos that talk to the functions of the vagus, and learning techniques both as bodyworkers and clients that can help us and our clients calm and restore/reset vagal function so we can live in a calmer and more fulfilling world.

While the day is geared towards massage therapists, all who might benefit from information about the vagal system are welcome—there will be bodywork on tables, but all can join with or without bodywork training. The goal is to help us all activate the vagal system in a more healthy bodymindcore.
