Below the Knees — Many problems further up the line can be changed and helped by staying below the knees!

Pre-req: None, massage license preferred, but others may benefit

Nicola Reed is a highly skilled massage therapist with 30 years experience running her own busy clinics in Cambridgeshire then Surrey.

She first trained with Noah Karrasch in 2011 on "Unwinding the Spine" which sparked the interest and fascination in the fascial system that she holds to this day. She started her CORE Bodywork training with Noah in 2012 and gained her CORE IV qualification in 2017 when she also gained her CORE Instructor I certificate.

She has continued her fascia training becoming a Scar therapist in 2017 which fits in beautifully with CORE work.

Nicola has a relaxed style of teaching CORE work where her love of all things fascia really does shine through.

This class serves the premise that much poor health is due to a static condition of the foot, ankle hinge, and calves, and attempts to bring flexibility and resiliency to the ankle hinge, tibial is posterior muscle and interosseus membrane of the leg, restoring shock absorbency to the lower body, the back, and even to the head and neck through deep reflexology, movement cues, and postural realignment. We will also examine anatomical landmarks of the foot and leg that we can stimulate manually, through movement & posture.

  *   Student will give and receive sessions of leg work and foot reflexology.
  *   Student will demonstrate understanding of concepts morning and afternoon.
  *   Student will learn a new way of seeing how to change bodies above by work below.
  *   Student will be given movement cues to share with clients who need 'homework'.
  *   Student will receive tuition in 'Rules for CORE Work'.

It's Karrasch's contention that good work below the knees changes everything above, creating resiliency through the body, moving the stuck energy and lengthening the core, especially when gentle assignments for the patrons who are serious about making positive changes are shared. The work focuses on creating partnership, staying on an acceptable level of challenge and keeping that patron 'in the body' and participating in the partnership. Results can be spectacular as creating successful relationship becomes easier.
